Well god I've done it again. I've turned these cobblestones to blood red. Put the bottle down picked up the pen. Found myself, amongst the worst of men.
Busted knuckles dirty hands, should've stayed away from this tainted land.
Barely striving barely surviving, but no one here gives a fuck that they're dying.
Who am I to judge, after spending years stuck in a rut. They extended a hand, then washed my face. Welcomed me into this land of grace.
Now I've never felt so at home
Obeying god just left me so alone.
The devil sins but he's not one to judge, as I slowly find myself falling back in love.
No holy hands, no wedding bands. Just muck and sand in this river end.
Float away now
I told myself not to drown
But I couldn't help myself.
Now float away with them, down the river's end

There's no way out of this grave I dug too deep.
These worms have now befriended me.
The soil lies heavy on my chest, but somehow I still manage to breathe.
The scent of you, burnt into my nostrils as I breathe.
The taste of you on my tongue outweighs these rotting teeth.
When heaven's gates start to turn to rust, and these halos above our heads turn to dust, just know it was always supposed to be the both of us
Amongst the worms in this splintered box that we call love.
Heavenly father please show me the way
I've been tossing and turning in this grave.
I'm not asking for forgiveness or my sins to be relieved
I'm just asking for peace as I lie beneath these leaves.
